Simon Burns MP congratulates Broomfield Hospital on its hospital food and privacy and dignity ratings

Commenting, the Rt Hon Simon Burns MP said:

“Over the last year or so, there has been considerable interest in and concern about the quality of food in hospitals, their cleanliness, and the vitally important issue of privacy and dignity. In the case of the privacy and dignity of patients, the Secretary of State for the Health, the Rt Hon Andrew Lansley MP, ensured that the Care Quality Commission carried out inspections of hospitals to monitor this vital part of the patient experience because it is essential that all patients are treated with the utmost dignity.

“The latest 2012 Patient Environment Action Team Inspections have just been published and I am pleased that Broomfield Hospital comes out so well following the inspections. In the area of cleanliness, privacy and dignity they have “good” ratings and in the area of food they are rated as “excellent”.

This reflects extremely well on the quality of care and the hard work provided by doctors, nurses, porters and other ancillary workers at the Mid Essex Hospital Trust, and I would like to congratulate them on their dedication and the hard work that they put in day in day out to look after and care for their patients.” ENDS
